CHAPTER IV

Front end

The CMS comes with news, sections, pages, default, login and configuration components installed in the back end.

The front end uses modules to present units of information, whether associated with a component or not, and pages act as their containers.

Assuming the software is used in a publishing environment, content would be organised into news articles and sections. There would also be a page for every section and every article entered into the system.

Creating a section should not require configuring a new page and specifying its modules. Instead, the section page should be understood as a container for all sections.

The same applies to news: the article page would encompass all articles.

Other pages will probably also be needed to display static content, modules from other components, or a mixture of content, as on the home page, index, which includes modules from several components.
