Abstract

Methodology

Working alone rather than in a team has allowed me to save considerable time on communication through diagrams, system information and shared reviews. In large organisations, modelling tools such as UML, or production based on RUP, become essential: in practice, programmers sometimes have no idea what the software they are writing is for.

The PHP5 programming language, supported by a MySQL database, has been used to address the functionality and objectives set out in this thesis. This has been my main tool. Although my approach has been closer to Extreme Programming than to RUP, I have included several analysis and design diagrams.

The development has been mirrored on GitHub as its central version-control repository.
